Sal Strods Vice President, Global New Product Development

Welch Allyn, Incorporated Sal
Strods has nearly 25 years of experience in the development of diagnostic and
therapeutic systems and solutions for the healthcare industry. Sal is currently
the VP of R&D and Global New Product Development at Welch Allyn. Welch
Allyn is one of the world’s leading researcher, developer, and manufacturer of
diagnostic, physiologic monitoring, and therapeutic solutions for frontline
caregivers. In this position Sal is responsible for the development of diagnostic
and therapeutic technologies, devices, and systems sold worldwide. Sal also
serves on the Welch Allyn US
and Canada
strategic planning team.
Sal
also held the prior position of VP R&D, Acute Care. This position entailed responsibility for the
development of Patient Monitoring, Defibrillation and Thermometry Devices and
Systems sold worldwide. Sal also was responsible for the establishment of the Welch
Allyn Singapore Emerging Countries Development Center (SECDC). Sal has held
other key leadership positions at Welch Allyn during his 17 year tenure
including Director R&D Monitoring Systems Division and Sr. Director,
Program Management Center of Excellence.
Sal holds a BS in Computer
Science from the State University of New York at Albany,
Albany, NY and
a MS in Computer Engineering from Syracuse
University, Syracuse, NY.
He is active in a number of professional organizations including IEEE, and the
Product Development and Management Association.
