Building his career on a foundation of technological expertise and
leadership, Albert Di Rienzo has contributed significantly to the
advancement of commercial, military, and medical applications essential
to society. In the span of 22 years, his career in industry includes
research and development appointments at Welch Allyn, Philips Medical
Systems, Siemens Medical Systems, Honeywell/Sperry Aerospace, and
General Dynamics Land Systems.
As SVP and CTO at Welch Allyn, one of the world’s leading researcher,
developer, and manufacturer of diagnostic, physiologic monitoring, and
therapeutic solutions for frontline caregivers, Albert leads the
Company’s worldwide research and development activities, including
financial, personnel, product, scientific, and technical
responsibilities. Under his guidance, development increased from eight
products released in 2002, to 20 released in 2005 with ever increasing
capability, complexity, quality, and performance. He oversees next
generation science and technology investigations, and is responsible for
growing research and development opportunities in Europe and Asia. He
holds a variety of technical and leadership posts within the Welch
Allyn. Among them, he serves as:
- Chair of the Welch Allyn Feasibility, Assessment, Strategic
Team
- Co-chair of the Product Strategy Board
- Member of the Executive Committee, IT Steering Committee, Operating
Leadership Team, Regulatory Affairs Steering Committee, and Political
Action Committee
Connecting his expertise to community involvement, Albert serves on
the Syracuse University College of Engineering & Computer Science
Dean’s Board, and the Founding Committee for the School of Informatics
at University of Buffalo, and the Board for Continua Health
Alliancesm. He is active in a number of professional
organizations including IEEE, the Mathematical Association of America,
the Product Development and Management Association, AdvaMed Digital
Health Information Sector, the Association for Computing Machinery, and
the Central New York Medical Technology Manufacturers Association. He is
also a Software Engineering Institute Partner and the 2005 Frost &
Sullivan Medical MindXchange Most Valuable Thought Leader.
Albert is degreed in Computer Science from Old Dominion University,
Norfolk, VA. Dedicated to the ideal of lifelong learning, Albert has
focused on continued professional development over the course of his
career, successfully pursuing an extensive list of managerial,
leadership, and technical skills courses.
